1.Identify three possible results from the analysis of positive and negative impacts of change.
Areas of the business may become confused – this can lead to certain groups becoming unmotivated and less productive. Operations may become more effective – change can refine operations to make them more effective, helping a business reach objectives faster and easier. Extra equipment can be required – this will cost the business money, especially technology related businesses, as new hardware can be expensive.
2.Compare and contrast the different backup methodologies.
Full backup – every file in the system is backed up. These backups can take time to complete and take up a significant amount of storage space. These backups, however, are the most secure as even if the whole business gets lost, a backup is available. Incremental backup – a full backup is made at first. After that, only changed files are backed up. This creates a path for losing data, however it is still very secure. Incremental backups can use less storage space depending on changes in the files. Differential backup – these backups are slight edits of an incremental backup. The only change being that the same changed files will continue to be backed up. Mirror backup – an identical copy of the files is made at once. This can lead to outdated files and rollbacks in the business during data loss. Also, this uses a lot of storage space.
3.Describe the term ‘traceability’.
Traceability relates to how easily a business can track a change through organisational structure. Changes must be traceable to understand potential issues and positives that come out of change.
4.Explain the purpose of version control.
Version control is when changes to documents and files are logged so that only current and relevant documentation is being used in a business.
5.Describe disaster recovery planning.
DRP (disaster recovery planning) is when a business creates an action plan in case there is a major cyber-attack or other incident relating to their digital systems. It is an official document that every area of the business must abide by in an incident. The aim of a DRP is to ensure that a business can recover as quickly as possible in the event of a disaster.
