Core A - Formative assessment practice

 Core A – Formative Assessment

Section A: Business Context and Culture

  1. Identify a potential psychological impact of unsafe digital technology use.

  1. Disturbed sleep patterns

  1. Describe one step in setting SMARTER objectives.

One step in setting SMARTER objectives is to verify the objective is realistic. SMARTER objectives should be set so that project stakeholders can achieve them realistically within the time and budget constraints.

  1. Explain one impact of increased reliance on technology on company culture.

One impact of increased reliance on technology would be an increase in communications throughout all areas of the business. Employees can communciate using digital technology quickly and easily leading to greater efficiency in the workplace.

  1. Identify two mitigation techniques to reduce online abuse in a business’s social media.

One mitigation technique would be content filtering where inappropriate content would be blocked to reduce online abuse. Another mitigation technique would be establishing company guidelines for social media usage.

  1. Describe two ways a white hat hacker could help test the security of a health clinic’s files.

One way a white hat hacker could test the security of a health clinic’s files is to perform a penetration test. This is where the hacker is given full permission to break into the system to locate vulnerabilities that could be exploited by bad actors. The white hat hacker would then report back to the health clinic and the vulnerabilities could be patched. Another way a white hat hacker could test the security of a health clinic’s files is to perform a social engineering test where the hacker tries to deceive key members of the business to gain access to the files. After the test, the hacker would report back to the business and recommend mitigation techniques such as employee training.

Section B: Diversity, Inclusion, Digital Environments

  1. Identify one effect of digital inclusion on an individual.

One effect of digital inclusion on an individual is increased opportunities for learning. For example, when people can use digital technologies, they have access to online learning resources and digital education platforms that can significantly enhance their learning regardless of geographical location or any other defining factors.

  1. Explain why a wireless access point is necessary for streaming videos on a mobile device.

Mobile devices do not have a wired connection port so they must connect to the internet via a wireless connection. Wireless access points allow Wi-Fi devices to connect to the internet wirelessly which allows them to stream videos.

  1. Evaluate how digitalisation could help improve library services and its survival.

Digitalisation can offer a library lots of opportunities to improve its services. By introducing digital technology, a library can benefit its customers and its internal system through a variety of ways.

Firstly, a library with digital technology will be able to offer digital forms of media for customers. For example, e-books and audiobooks can be sold online without people having to physically visit the library, therefore enabling another stream of income reliant off digitalisation. This would help the library survive in the increased usage of technology in society.

Another way a library could benefit from digitalisation is by offering a quicker and more efficient user experience when taking out or returning books. For example, using digital technology such as tablets would make daily functions of the library more efficient and streamlined, it would also reduce the need for library staff allowing the library to cut costs to survive.

Finally, the library could also use digital technology to extend their opening hours. For example, with the use of an online system to be able to renew books, customers could manage their loans regardless of the time. This means the library could be more efficient in their stock management and enable 24-hour renewal times for customers to more easily renew their books. This allows the library to hold a greater stock of books, therefore increasing their survivability as they can attract a greater market variety.
